Southwestern University

Recruitment

As members of the fraternity/sorority community, Alpha Delta Pi is proud to welcome those who want to enhance their college experience as part of something bigger. We select and maintain membership on the basis of scholarship, leadership, commitment, and service to the work of the sorority, the university, and the community. Alpha Delta Pi actively encourages a membership which represents a diverse population and does not discriminate in membership selection procedures. Come home to Alpha Delta Pi and find women who are true and loyal, just like our blue and white colors represent. ADPi sisters are leaders and visionaries. We are SGA senators, artists, student athletes, and scholars. We are committed to sisterhood, values and ethics, high academic standards, and social responsibility. We committed to those when we established the first secret society for collegiate women in 1851 at the first university chartered to grant degrees to women. We are committed to them still today.

The Zeta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi eagerly awaits recruitment each year. We are excited to welcome a new class of members to our Sisterhood, who will continue our legacy of developing well-rounded collegiate women. Our wish is that all Potential New Members feel welcome throughout the process of Recruitment. Southwestern University has deferred recruitment, meaning we typically hold recruitment the first weekend back from winter break.

We can’t wait to meet you during recruitment this year! Our Vice President of Marketing and Recruitment has prepared a letter for you until then:

Dear PNMs,

After my fall semester, I was still struggling to find that group of friends that felt like family. When I first joined ADPi I was a little unsure if I had made the right choice, but after a semester of being within the sorority and my amazing Big, Catherine, I found myself wanting to give back to the fabulous community that made SU finally feel like home.

I took a shot in the dark running for recruitment chair. ADPi strengthened my skills of time management, communication, active listening, delegation, and most of all taught me how to trust and open up to others and ask for help. I discovered that I love to be a leader, I love using my creative mind to come up with t-shirt designs, posters, themes for events, and working with my fellow members.

In ADPi I wasn’t only offered the opportunity to be a leader, but I was encouraged and found myself rising to be better not only for myself, but for my sisters as well. We live for each other and for Alpha Delta Pi.

Loyally,

Elle Reede

Vice President of Marketing and Recruitment
